A little daunting the idea of typing on the emptiness of their desk, but the Bluetooth Virtual Keyboard Hammacher Schlemer ($199) work through this ’holographic’ principle.
If you do not mind the idea of having an aspect a little ’surreal, this keyboard is an imagegenerated by a laser on any flat surface. Through it all you iPhone, iPad or Android will enjoywriting about full-size keys, even if a little ’too light… to crush. It is worse than a touch screen keyboard, in the end.
According to the producers the keyboard recognizes the “pressure” by an infrared optical sensor, projected horizontally to a few millimeters from the surface. Since when flying keyboardfingers should not be ”obscured” by this beam at each other, everything works pretty well. The company boasts a 100% accuracy.
The speed is not bad, given that the keyboard is able to follow 400 characters per minute.Certainly when it comes to keyboards, size does matter, even beyond the absence of physical sensation of touch.

This week’s app is Action Movie FX (Free), which is made by Bad Robot Interactive. The application allows everyone to become, for few minutes, the director of their own action movie by adding incredible special effects to your iPhone video clips.
